You probably will not receive SSI, SSDI and Widows Benefits. You may or may not receive SSI for the 5:month waiting period. Someone should contact you for your financial info for SSI in the next 60 days. You can apply for the Medicare Savings Program through Medicaid   If your income and resources are low, Medicaid will help with your Medicare expenses. What they help with depends on your income and resources

General rule of thumb:

Once the decision is written and disseminated to the various components (you, your lawyer, the PC, your local office, other OHO components), it is reasonable to expect a first check within 30-60 days and retroactive benefits 60-90 days.

Congrats!!!

I got my backpay within about a month of my decision letter. First monthly benefit payment about 2 months after my decision letter. If you owe back taxes (and are not on a payment plan), owe child support, received worker's comp in the past, are expecting a large amount of backpay, etc., it can slow down how quickly you receive your backpay.

Once you receive your AWARD letter (so far it sounds like you've just received your DECISION letter and are still awaiting the AWARD letter), there's usually a section titled "Things To Remember For the Future" or something like that towards the end of the AWARD letter and that often tells you when your first CDR is scheduled to take place. My first CDR ended up coming a few months earlier than what my award letter stated so you never know but it should give you a general idea.

I received my AWARD letter about a month after the DECISION letter but for some people it can take longer.

Congratulations on your approval!

Newdawn, i see we have similar diagnosis of Depression and Anxiety. Just curious, was it hard for you to pass your first CDR? I ask because mine is coming in February of 2013, and my condition hasn't improved since my decision in 2020.

My first CDR was a long form and I didn't have any trouble with it. My long form CDR timeline is below. I think it went fairly quickly because I turned in my forms quickly and I believe my doctors faxed my medical records in fairly quickly as well. And perhaps there wasn't a backlog in my state at the time, etc. Who knows.

05/16/2018 CDR longform rec'd
05/21/2018 mailed CDR back
06/13/2018 AFR rec'd, tdoc & pdoc rec'd fax
06/20/2018 faxed CDR back 3:45PM
06/27/2018 CDR disability continuing rec'd
