Two cases hearing timeline

I have two cases that are most likely going to be combined into one hearing. One remanded beginning of April from federal, second new application waiting for ALJ hearing. The second app has shown ALJ reviewing and will schedule hearing if needed on ssa website since March 3 and remand was sent back April 4.

From what Ive read remand hearings must be within 6 months and given priority? Is this true? So I should be getting a hearing date soon with 75 day letter?

Also anyone know why my second app is being reviewed for almost 4 months now? I feel like I should know something. My first hearings were scheduled in less than 6 months after recon denial

My remand from federal was September 2021 and still no hearing I received a letter asking if I wanted video hearing but that is it.

Thats awful! Im so fed up with this system. Do you have a lawyer? What is their reasoning. I thought remands took priority and had to be held within 6 months. I did get the paper to do a telephone hearing for my second app that is going to ALJ but the lawyer says they will be combined so im very confused as to when this will happen as my 2 nd app has been sitting for 4 months now.

Remands are definitely supposed to be treated as priority, but I don't know if 6 months is the an actual goal.

When my case was remanded, the OHO said it would probably take about 13 months. My lawyer, however, said it usually doesn't take that long to have the hearing scheduled when it's a court remand...he said "six months is more likely but it could be longer". That's a quote from his email to me, BUT that was 2015 (wow!) so things certainly could have changed for the better by now.

Incidentally, my hearing was actually scheduled 5 1/2 months out, but then delayed twice.

Thanks sfvlance. For some reason I remember seeing 6 months on here. So if I have two cases, would the new application at ALJ stage generally be closer to 6 months? I believe my first hearing was 5 months after they received it.

Im spinning my wheels as ive been going through this since I initially filed in 2019 but was disabled in mid 2018. If you had to guess, which would be assigned a hearing date first? My 2 nd app has been processing for 4 months already so I was hoping theyd give me a date and then combine the two so I could hopefully be done with this. This is the most stressful process ive had to endure as im sure you know. I should be approved with all my restrictions this time and I havent worked since the beginning of this. I was really hoping theyd approve without putting me through the stress of another hearing but that seems rare from what im seeing on here

If anyone can enlighten me on Federal Timeline ? - In Northern NY Dist Fed Court - Filed federal appeal in Sept 2021 - all documents Defendant & Plaintiff (Briefs etc) were filed & entered in March 2022. Case with Federal Judge. It has been almost 9 months since I filed Complaint - How long are these cases taking now ? I have the Judge's court clerk contact phone number & I really want to call to get status on case / decision ? Just not sure if that would be a good thing....(Note: I do check Pacer regularly, but no movement)

Mine took over a year to get remanded. Now its just sitting and the lawyer said hes waiting for the actual remand letter from the appeals council to see what issues are supposed to be addressed in the new hearing or if its a de novo hearing. It was remanded beginning of April so now we wait some more for hearing date. Im in CA so it might be different. Ive seen people
On here wait up to two years for the process so I really dont know. I hope neither one of us are waiting that long. I think mine will be at a hearing soon as my 2 nd app has been waiting for a hearing date for 4 months.
