How long after you applied did you get your hearing?

Was the appointment long after the appointment letter?

Very old post but a good question, lots of us are at this stage now. It would be interesting to see people's waiting time for a hearing :)

I am in Virginia---my hearing took 10 months to get. I won on March 25th. Still waiting for my backpay. Got SSI back pay but no final SSDI yet. What is taking so long? I rec'd letter stating SSDI was being withheld untill SSI back pay was being figured out....

Here are links to two lists.  The first list shows ODARs and the average processing time it takes to request a hearing and then receive your decision (from shortest to longest wait).  It does not include the initial or reconsideration time.

http://www.socialsecurity.gov/appeals/DataSets/05_Average_Processing_Time_Report.html

The second list is alphabetical by ODAR.

Thanks jubjub:

Those are actually the lists I use to compile our State Statistics pages. I'm afraid with my recent cancer treatments they fell a couple of months behind. However, I'm getting back on track and did download the newest information earlier this week. I hope to have the recent stats published in the next week.

The hearing took about 18 months from the date of application, it was denied, and now I have waited about 6-8 month's I believe, since the hearing for the appeals council to review it.

I hear they take a year, so probably next February or March, I'll update you here on that decision.

I'm worried about the District Court part, my lawyer says he will give up after this, so I will have to get another one, I just hope they waive that fee, I have no income to pay for it.

It's 300-400 for federal court, the next level after that is 800-900 filing fee, but I don't think I would go all the way after District court. This is hopeless.

Live in MI and it took from November 2011 to February 2013 to receive remand notice back to ALJ. Decision of ALJ was vacated by the Appeals Council due to lack of all medical evidence being applied in his decision. SS guidelines were not followed in the decision making process. ALJ ordered to look at all medical evidence and further develop the record and issue a new decision.
