« on: July 22, 2022, 03:15:12 pm »
Hello,
Does everyone that is on SSDI get approved for multiple conditions? In other words, a primary and secondary impairment such as the codes i see on the Disability update report?

There are some people who may only have one severe impairment

So they would not have a primary and secondary code, only a primary?

I have multiple impairments.  If I go back and look at my papers from the judge it is listed but I don't think its in any particular order..... but mine are from an accident so I don't know if that is different.

A few weeks after I was approved, I asked the DDS worker that was assigned to my case if she could tell me what my disability was on my records. She said on our phone conversation that it was "statutory blindness".
This was determined after they sent me to a vision doctor for evaluation.
So just that 1, even though I found out later that SSDI also had in my case file that I couldn't handle my own financials and my wife became my representative in SSDI matters from then on.
This was determined after my mental evaluation when they sent me to a phycologist.
So even though I was evaluated with 2 approved listings I was told that the one listed is the one that I was approved for.

To add to my post above, I met a listing in my first application.
So my case won't be the same as a case that was approved after any reconsideration or appeal phases.

Sadly I can't answer your question personally as I checked the scanline codes on my first short form mailer and I have two diagnosis codes listed. I wonder if you only have one impairment to list if they put 0000 for the second code or possibly "----" or what?

Thank you for the responses. I looked in the manual and yes you are correct if you didn't have more than one impairment in would be a 0000 code.

Thanks for the link to the Scanline Codes. I didn't have that one in my bookmarks.
It's interesting to read / learn more about the system and how it works.
