Hi All, have you received a CDR long form or short form from the ages of 60 years old and above ? Anyone in this age group please respond so we can all get a better picture of the statistics. Thanks in advance.

Never had a cdr since I’ve been on SSDI since i was approved at age 55. I’m 65 now and next year my SSDI converts to regular social security.

Very interesting poll so far over 83% received no cdrs short or long. One person received three or more after age 60 I wonder what the circumstances were involved with that. I encourage others 60 and over to take the poll to get a more clearer picture. Thanks everybody

That is me.
I've had 4 short form/work reviews in 7.5 years.
I answered the poll above as 3 after turning 60. I had one before I turned 60. I had just turned 58 when approved for SSDI.

Best wishes,

BRBB

Thanks Heyjoe great Jimi Hendrix song by the way lol. Thanks. BRBB so it seems they have you on a 2 year diary is it because you're working or is it just your disability that warrants a two-year diary just curious. I have always heard but obviously not correct that once you hit 60 your put into the MINE category which is usually a five to seven-year diary.

Nope.
I was MINE from the beginning.

I got/get short formed/work reviewed due to working very near SGA every year.

I turn 66 this fall.....so no more reviews......even though I had/have the process down to a science.

Best wishes,

BRBB
Philip

Thanks BRBB for your feedback and good luck with your cdr free retirement. So basically you had so many cdrs due to the fact that you were working.

I have always heard but obviously not correct that once you hit 60 your put into the MINE category which is usually a five to seven-year diary.

This thread caused me to call up the 800 number today and try to find out what my diary is. To recap im currently 63, the last time i had any review was a short form in 2015. exactly three years previously in 2012 i also received a short form. Both years in June, I was scheduled for one in 2018 according to  the 800 number last year and a BPQY that i had requested in 2019. I never got it.

So today because of this thread i called the 800 number . She said you are on a 3 year schedule for cdr's, so you should get one in 2021, since you got one in 2018. i asked does it say im scheduled in 2021 and she said no. But that i am on 3 year schedule.

So at 63  I'm still MIP not MINE. Records show i was reviewed in 2018 which i wasnt, at least not with paperwork sent to me. what was done internally by ssa i dont know. And there is still nothing in my record for date on next cdr.

 all  in all very strange,

I am 62 and the last CDR I received was in October 2018. My first review was a long form, then 3 more short forms. my diary scheduled every 3 years, and I hope next October which I will be 63 I don't receive one.

Thanks for responding Heyjoe and Sammy. Yes very bizarre phone call you had Heyjoe sounds to me like a Twilight Zone episode. So basically you know less now than you did before you called them. Strange place this SSA. They constantly contradict themselves. They say over 60 you should be in the mine category and you are not. They say they sent you a short form they did not. They tell you you are on a 3 year diary but they don't see anything in the computer that's going to be sent out. I mean what seems to be the major malfunction. Yes like you said very strange.

Sammy so you received a short form over the age of 60 hopefully at 63 you will not get one. I am do for a CDR in October I will be one month short of 61 don't know what to expect when I'll be one month short of 64. Nothing makes sense when it comes to SSA.

Question is there something in the rules that actually states that over 60 you should be mine ? Does mine state that you should have a 5 to 7 year diary? And if it does why does SSA not follow it ? If this info is in there poms i can't find it. Can someone post it please. Thanks

I posted this from the POMS in another thread:
https://ssdfacts.com/forum/index.php?topic=26468.msg244708#msg244708

"1. Age 54 1/2 or older at MIE or MIP diary maturity
a. Setting the MINE diary
Set a MINE diary for individuals whose MIE or MIP diaries will mature at age 54 1/2 or older. These individuals are currently age 51 ½ or older."

After age 54, we are supposed to be classified as MINE.  Even a current SSA employee who does CDRs confirmed this to me.
