In July 2021, I was approved for SSDI and received Back Pay for both it and some SSI.  After the payments, I began receiving regular monthly SSDI payments but no more SSI as the amount of the SSDI exceeded the limits to qualify me for additional SSI payments.  No problem, I kinda expected that.

But, fast forward a year to July 2022, and out of the blue on July 15th, I received a SSI payment of $794.  I called the SSA to enquire.  They said that at the time of my approval a year earlier, although some SSI money was paid out as Back Pay, some was also withheld for a future payment and that now, that "future payment" was made to me.  I asked if any additional SSI payments would be coming my way in time and was told no, that this was simply the final payout of what was owed to me.

Just wanted to share my experience, maybe others have had a similar payout a year after being approved.
