Question about Low income Housing Tax Credit Program

Hello,

I have been getting help with my rent from HUD for almost 7 years. Today I read about a housing complex being built that will use LIHTC.

I had never heard of LIHTC before, or if I had I forgot.

Does anyone have any experience with it?

I am curious about a few things ...

Does HUD and LIHTC work hand in Hand or are they separate programs?


Can you apply for and get into a complex using the LIHTC  program and still be on HUD?


The complex that will use LIHTC is in a larger city.  I would hate to loose my HUD voucher if I got approved for this new complex  and have to get on a HUD waitlist again if i wanted to move down the line.
