How WEP Fits in to SSDI

Hello! I am so grateful for your wealth of information and support on this site. Here is the timeline of my filing for SSDI:

• June 2016 Fell ill with permanent side effects from a post-surgery infection treated with ciprofloxacin (poison!). Cascading CNS, nervous system, and musculo-skeletal system damage since.
  Fall 2016-June 2019 Struggled like hell to continue teaching, but finally "crashed" and filed for SSDI in July 2019.
  May 2019 began receiving CalStrs pension for 5 years of teaching 1999-2004
  Oct 2019 SSA website showed my claim for the first time.
  Nov 2020 SSA website showed that a medical decision has been made and that they are working to process my benefit application...

I am wondering at this point how the WEP fits into my application process... I was told by SSA before I started drawing my CalSTRS that SSA "didn't care about WEP before I started drawing SS benefits" that the WEP would only be deducted for when my benefits started as a regular SS beneficiary. But since it looks like I will be an SSDI beneficiary, would they retroactively deduct taxes for WEP on my SSDI claim? They have all of my work history and the blank years for SS tax deductions, so I would think that would be an automatic "red flag" with my consideration. I understand the need for the deduction in general terms, I am just unsure as to how it will factor in and potentially stall the start of my payments.

Thanks! I read through these... I guess I am looking for personal experiences with delays, revisions, etc. involving CalStrs (or other state pensions) starting before an SSDI claim. I think they may pull deductions back to the start of my CalStrs retirement payments, but I'm not sure. Looks like I need to track how they determine my complicated situation, and expect more interminable delays.
