The VA criteria for disability and SSA's is different. After a diagnosis has been made. the view shifts to how the impairments affect your ability to perform Activities Of Daily Living. Details Matter. Have you discussed these details with your doctors ? Did you get copies of your medical records and read them to be sure your doctors noted the details in your medical records? Did you give details when you filled out your Activities Of Daily Living form ? Do you have to use a electric cart when you grocery shop ? Does someone have to do your shopping for you ? Can you put your groceries up ? If you can, do you have to take breaks to sit or lay down before all of your groceries are put up ? No one is a mind reader. Five people can have the same impairments but the symptoms affect them in different ways. If someone helps you with grocery shopping,preparing meals, showering, or other things. They can fill out a Third Party Form.

Thank you, I hope so too!! As for how they figure out the percentages of where they are at in the decision process, I have no clue. Mine ticks up 1 percent every day except Sunday and holidays. Today I am at 49%.
And yes, reading all the information here does help to calm the nerves. It kind of gives a snapshot of what can be expected at the exam. Good luck to you and keep us posted if you wish!!

SSA doctors do not order tests for you.  If a test is needed for your claim, it is ordered by DDS.  But even if the doctor says you need you have X test to assess Y, they cannot order for SSA to pay for it.

That makes sense, I didn't think about that.

That's too bad! The doctor could have at least ordered a test of some sort for you.
I had both exams. The first doctor said that he felt that I could get a job but would not be able to keep it. He also threw in that it's their decision. The second doctor wasn't very friendly. He seemed rushed. I had a hard time walking heel to toe without looking like a drunk, but since that is not a normal every day walk, I'm sure it won't count for much.

CDRs can arrive early, on time, or later than expected.

We have many knowledge people here. Even though SSDFacts is mainly for disability. We do get questions about retirement that do not deal with disability. Usually it is a member than is disabled and they are asking for a family member or friend. You are more than Welcome to ask your questions here.

No matter how hard it is to admit it, but you are in a really difficult situation. If your husband received a sufficient amount of subsidies, then only in this case the payments formed for him can be redirected to you. But this is in the event that your benefits are not enough for your life support. In any case, you need to try to file a petition.
