Patient Portal records for mental health care??
« on: February 16, 2021, 07:44:07 am »
I am curious: do other mental health care patients on the site find that their "patient portal" records/notes fully and accurately represent/reflect the treatment they are receiving? In my situation, they do not. I don't have any previous experience using patient portals and I'm just not sure if the records there are a somewhat abbreviated/generic version of my visits or is that "all there is". If it's "all there is", I don't see any reason to continue treatment (or at least not with this provider). Thanks for any input.

Depends i guess what portal your dr's use and the dr's themselves. My psychiatrist uses patient fusion which i have found to be pretty good in given detailed information. as opposed to my primary care dr that uses healow, which i'm not too fond of.

Mental health patients may not have direct access to all of their medical records. A mental health doctor's private notes are not part of patients medical records

Thank you SteelCity1981 and Just Me for your responses. The incomplete and inaccurate information in my patient portal records has me really aggravated. I'm too angry to even attempt to talk to the responsible PMHNP about it...maybe when I cool off (not that I expect her to do anything about it).
