THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
« on: December 14, 2010, 04:18:34 am »
Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the new sticky topic for The Comfort Zone. I got this great idea from Rallen and Mousey.  They always post such wonderful, encouraging messages and because of that, this thread was started.

It is a place where each of our members can post thoughts, quotes, prose – anything they have found encouraging, uplifting or that has helped them to make it through a difficult time in their lives.  I hope you will all visit often to find comfort or make your own contribution and offer the support we can all use in dealing with our disabilities and the stresses of everyday life.

So, I’m kicking it off with one of my favorite poems (author unknown):

What is a dream? A magical thing
A rainbow of joy in your heart
Your own secret corner. Where no one can go
Where the path to fulfillment can start
A dream lures you on. Always one step ahead
Until you have caught it and then...
There’s always another to capture your soul
And lead your heart onward again.

I look forward to reading your contributions.

Pati

Wonderful Idea. I loved "what is a dream" Pati. I will have to ponder of this a bit. My brain has left me today. But you know me, I will come up with something to add. lol

My favorite quotes about disability ...

"Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses." - Alphonse Karr

"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin

"Disability is not a brave struggle or ‘courage in the face of adversity.’ Disability is an art. It’s an ingenious way to live." - Neil Marcus

You know, sooner or later everybody gets hurt by life.

There's no way to avoid it.

But it's the ones who bounce back who make it interesting!

In solitude
I do much,
In love
I do more,
but
in doubt
I only transfer
pain to paper
