Thank you for your service Freddy, we are glad to have you.  Are you going through the wounded warrior program?

See: http://www.ssa.gov/woundedwarriors/
Quote
The expedited process is used for military service members who become disabled while on active military service on or after October 1, 2001, regardless of where the disability occurs.

Many veterans who served and became disabled before October 1, 2001 are denied expedited processing for Social Security benefits.  It is a point of contention as to why some are eligible and some are not.   :Main17:

When did you become disabled and were you on active duty at the time?

also retired Army (21 years)...but get no VA rating for disability. I broke ma ankle in 6 places on an airborne jump but was denied. I am getting disability now with SSDI for cancer...but that was not caused by the military service.
